Left home about 11 am and cycled down to Blackrock Sands. A distance of 30 miles. We started off in dry, if not sunny weather and about 10 miles from home it started raining. Rained a lot of the way there, but cleared up before we arrived at the campsite, so we were able to put up the tent in the dry. We were going to get some lunch on the way, but got off the cycle track before reaching a small cafe and museum that we know of, but weren't sure exactly where on the track it was! We then said we'd get lunch at the next cafe - but didn't pass one. Then called in at the Gelert shop in Porthmadog, but didn't get lunch in Porthmadog as it was heaving with tourists, and before we knew it we were at the campsite before finding anywhere to eat. By this time it was about 3 pm, so pitched the tent and walked to the cafe/bar at the campsite next door. Had chip butties!! Walked on the beach, had an ice cream from an ice cream van plying up and down the sands, went back to the tent where I tried to post a blog entry from my phone. Didn't work!! Error message. Tried several times before giving up (and nearly throwing the phone out of the tent!). Went back to the cafe/bar in the evening for a drink - then to bed.
