General stuff

To car drivers:      WHAT'S YOUR RUSH?
- Stop and Smell the Roses
- What is this life if, full of care,
   We have no time to stand and stare. (William Henry Davies)

Things I will remember:
- Peter's (smug) face when I realised he had stoped ages ago and I had cycled back to where he was waiting at the turning I should have taken;
- the (chubby) postman who cycled past me casually on his old-fashioned post bike with a loaded front container, texting on his phone with one hand, whilst I was struggling up the hill peddling hard;
- the hills (oh those hills!) on Day 2.
- the midges at King's Head (unbelievable!)
- spectacular scenery: the wild beauty of Bodmin moors - and the Forest of Bowland; the boring day-after-day flatness of the Scottish lowlands; the grandeur of the Scotish highlands; the barreness and solitude from Lairg to Reay
- the people we met on the way

Conundrums:
- why are B&Bs so scarce when you are desperate to find one, but plentiful early on in the trip the next morning?
- ditto cafes
- how do the wires on earphones get so tangled up EVERY time you get them out of their container, even though you'd put them away neatly?
