Saturday 21st August

Survived the night! No rain this morning. Had a brew with half an energy bar each. Not raining. Left camp at 8.45, and it started to drizzle just as we were about to peddle. Went into St. Breward for breakfast at the post office. Cycled down hill so knew we had to come up again! Got to PO only to be told by Chris (proprietor) that breakfast wasn't being served until 10.30 as they had childminding problems. Disappointed, but then Chris said he could manage toast & tea - or teacake. Yes please! He had the post office to see to as well and nipped up and down stairs in between chats with us. Thanks Chris (pic to follow) Easy start over the moors. Rain stopped & we got hot so took off waterproofs. The road we were on then ran on top of a WW 2 runway for a while. Descended to Launceston, stopping on the way for a cream tea - last chance before leaving Cornwall. Crossed the Tamar into Devon. Started some climbs, but at least they weren't too steep. Arrived at Bridestow where we were going to camp, but no-one was in so we decided to carry on to next campsite. Started raining again, but put up tent, had shower, washed clothes and retired to the pub for a meal and several drinks! Goodnight :)

  1. Well done both of you! You're doing really well. I check your blog every night and it's great to know how you're getting on. Love the photos Cora's put on. Looking forward to the next instalment.
